• Register someone else for an AUSkey

    Registering someone else for an AUSkey means you are allowing them to use online services on behalf of your business. You can register someone for a Standard or an Administrator AUSkey depending on the type of AUSkey they need.

    You can only register someone else if you have an Administrator AUSkey or if you are an eligible associate recorded on the Australian business number (ABN).

    Using your Administrator AUSkey to register someone else

    The fastest way to register someone else is by logging in to AUSkey Manager with your Administrator AUSkey. Under Register New AUSkeys you can register someone else for a Standard or Administrator AUSkey.

    To register someone in AUSkey Manager you will need:

    • the full legal name of the person you wish to register
    • their email address.

    Standard AUSkey

    Once you have registered someone for a Standard AUSkey the person will be able to download and use their AUSkey straight away. An email with instructions on how to set up their AUSkey will be sent to them.

    You can also register more than one person for standard AUSkeys at a time.

    Administrator AUSkey

    When you register someone for an Administrator AUSkey, the person will receive an email asking them to provide further identification to complete the registration. Once their identity has been confirmed, they will receive another email with instructions on how to set up their AUSkey.

    Using the online registration to register someone else

    If you are an eligible associate of the ABN you can use the online registration to register someone else for an Administrator AUSkey.

    To register someone else via the online registration you will need:

    • the ABN of the business you want the AUSkey to be linked to
    • your full legal name
    • your date of birth
    • your tax file number (TFN) – providing your TFN is not mandatory, but will speed up the registration process. If you don’t provide your TFN you will need to call
      1300 AUSkey (1300 287 539) and provide extra details so we can confirm your identity and complete the registration.
    • your email address
    • the full legal name of the person you wish to register
    • their email address.

    After you have submitted the information required the person will receive an email asking them to provide further identification to complete the registration. Once their identity has been confirmed, they will receive another email with instructions on how to set up their AUSkey.

    To register someone for a Standard AUSkey you need to log in to AUSkey Manager with an Administrator AUSkey.
