• ABR data products and services

    Registered business information is stored as public and non-public data in the Australian Business Register (ABR).

    Access to non-public data is available only to eligible government agencies. The following information explains different methods of accessing public and non-public ABR data.

    Once your agency has been granted access to non-public data, the following products and services are available.

    Non-public data

    ABR Explorer

    ABR Explorer is an online reporting tool for authorised government agencies. You can extract available ABR information and generate reports, charts and tables straight from your computer.

    Your agency can use the integrated mapping feature directly linked to NationalMapExternal Link for planning, development and emergency response.

    ABR Connect

    The ABR provides web services for eligible government agencies to retrieve live public and non-public details of Australian business number (ABN) records.

    Data transfer facility

    The Data transfer facility is a secure facility hosted by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) that enables government agencies to download extracts of non-public bulk data.

    ABN Lookup

    ABN Lookup is the public view of the ABR. Using ABN LookupExternal Link agencies can download public data into their applications and databases, and:

    • search for single or multiple ABNs
    • quickly and easily identify cancelled ABNs and changes to public data items
    • pre-fill agency online forms and validate ABNs
    • confirm ABNs without navigating away from payment and procurement applications.
    • ABR Explorer

      ABR Explorer is an online reporting tool providing eligible government agencies with access to ABR information.

    • ABR Connect

      ABR Connect plans to deliver digital services to allow eligible agencies to integrate with the ABR and use the register as their own.

    • Data Transfer Facility

      Government agencies with current Australian Business Register terms and conditions in place can download large volumes of data via the Data Transfer Facility.
