• Method of call

The IdentifierSearch web service operation returns a payload (ABRPayloadSearchIdentifier) containing the original search parameters and the search response. IdentifierSearch web service requests are made via an HTTP GET command only, no other HTTP verbs are supported, and responses are in XML only.

The search methods available for the IdentifierSearch web services fall into two categories:

    • Australian Business Number (ABN)
    • Australian Company Number (ACN)/Australian Registered Body Number (ARBN)

    Search by ABN

This returns the ABN and all the public and non-public data items contained in the record.

Historical data will only be returned if the History value in the request equals YES <abr:history>Y</abr:history>.

    Search by ACN/ARBN

This returns the ACN or ARBN number and the public and non-public data contained in the record. Note the ACN needs to have an ABN, otherwise it will not return any values.

When searching for "ACN or ARBN" you must add the "ACN/ARBN parameters in the <abr:identifierValue>ACN/ARBN<IdentifierValue>.

Historical data will only be returned if the History value in the request equals YES <abr:history>Y</abr:history>.
