• Changes to your ABN

The Registrar of the Australian Business Register (ABR) regularly reviews ABN records to ensure entities are still entitled to an ABN.

As part of this process, we attempt to contact the ABN holder and if we can’t the ABN could be cancelled.

To ensure we can contact you, you should notify us of any changes to your ABN details within 28 days.

Your ABN details are used by a range of government agencies to plan for community services and infrastructure development. They may also contact you with important information that can benefit your business.

Some of your details that government agencies rely on include:

    • addresses – postal, business location, email
    • ANZSIC – main business activity and industry code
    • contact details
    • associate details.

Your details should also be current so that other businesses can access and verify your information, for example, find out whether you are operating a business or learn more about the status of your GST registration.

A fast way to update your details is online using an AUSkey or by contacting us on 139ABN (139226).

All changes made to your ABN online will take effect immediately.
